I just love a New Years Eve wedding. I mean think of it, all your people, in one gorgeous place, everyone dressed to the nines and an open bar! YES PLEASE !Ok ok, so I don't cash in on the open bar when I'm shooting these fabulous occasions but I love the tempo that builds throughout the night, the revelry at the strike of midnight and the intentions you set right there, right then with your beloved. You wake up in the new year with your person and the world is yours! I think finding the right wedding venue where everyone is really cozy for the entire night, booking excellent entertainment and providing late night snacks are key components in making your NYE wedding hit.
My 2017 love birds created the perfect night for all their people to ring in 2017 in style! The Fairmount Hotel provided a gorgeous venue just steps off of Chicago's Mag Mile. Stemline Creative adorned the various ballrooms with perfectly placed floral. The Blue Water Kings kept the tempo right with 'East Coast style' music sets between dinner's many courses. And all this was orchestrated perfectly by the planning of Honey Bee Weddings. Oh and we can't forget the bride looked STUNNING in her Hayley Paige gown. No detail was missed, the ambient light was twinkling and all their guests seemed to have a brilliant time ringing in the new year.
Meredith + Ross really brought together so many wonderful people from all around the world. The beautiful stories shared that night spoke to the character of this couple & made me see again how perfectly suited Ross + Meredith are for one another. I loved getting to know them in our initial engagement shoot and even on her big day, as she was preparing with her mom, Linda, my bride said to me." You can just call me Mere!" My heart surged with pride that another one of my beloved clients had become a friend. Her kindness in friendship and family reflected throughout the night, in overheard snippets of story and toasts. Ross's father offered cheers to the newlyweds adding that both he and Ross certainly 'married up' underlying the great qualities of both Ross's new wife and loving mom, Marla. Though I must say Ross is one of the sweetest grooms I've met and am just so giddy about how many captures from both the engagement shoot and the wedding day reflect how gaga he is for his lady. You can just tell by the way he looks at her ! These two together truly remind me that there is a lid for every kettle, a match suited for everyone. And at the end of the night when I was making my rounds saying good bye to Marla + Linda, I bid my last farewell to Mere and she hugged me with great thanks and said "thanks for being you!"
2017, I love my job! Mere + Ross, I can't get enough of your sweetness together and hope to have many more occasions to capture your beautiful families!
